We have been retained by our client in the Mining industry to facilitate the recruitment and selection of a vacant position of a Logistics Officer that has risen in their organization. The logistics officer t is expected coordinate and monitor supply chain operations including customs clearing of imports and Exports. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons.

⦁ A University degree in Supply Chain Management

⦁ CIPS qualification and/or master's degree is an added advantage

⦁ At least 5 years experience working as a Logistics Officer in a heavy industry environment. Experience in the mining industry is an added advantage.

⦁ Solid knowledge of Public procurement

⦁ Solid knowledge of managing imports and exports

⦁ Sound knowledge of SHEQ Management systems

⦁ Supervise orders and arrange stocking of critical materials and equipment to ensure they meet operational needs.

⦁ Communicate with suppliers and service providers to achieve profitable transportation deals

⦁ Plan and track the shipment of materials according to internal customer requirements.

⦁ Maintain trackers, logs, and records of executed orders, delivery status, and customs clearing status for imports.

⦁ Work closely with suppliers to obtain needed materials for operations and projects with particular attention to cost control, quality, and timely delivery.

⦁ Engage with user departments to formulate short-term and long-term strategic logistics plans to maximize value.
