We have been retained by our client in the financial services sector to facilitate the recruitment and selection of a Project Manager within their organisation. This role is responsible for developing, in conjunction with the Project Sponsor, a definition of the project.
This role is responsible for managing projects across businesses and functions, in order to meet strategic business objectives. The role incumbent is responsible for planning, executing and evaluating projects according to predetermined methodologies, timelines and budgets and required quality standard. Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals.

Key Focus
This role is responsible for developing, in conjunction with the Project Sponsor, a definition of the project.
This role is responsible for managing projects across businesses and functions, in order to meet strategic business objectives. The role incumbent is responsible for planning, executing and evaluating projects according to predetermined methodologies, timelines and budgets and required quality standard
He/she ensures the project is effectively resourced and manages relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. He/she will potentially work on multiple medium – high complexity projects simultaneously.
Should also manage the Agile practice execution, ensuring it is understood and enacted.
Key Result Area and Accountability
Project Scoping- Interrogate the business requirements/brief and objectives/benefits for a new project based thereon contract with the project stakeholders on parameters that define the technical and business scope of the project
Change request & Change control- Be aware of potential changes to the baseline scope of the project that may require the initiation of the change control process
Project planning & integration- Facilitate initiation engagement and agreement with SME’s/business owners surrounding how the business case translates into a project in terms of the project components, approach, key stakeholders etc.
Quality Management- Confirm and adhere to the quality approach to achieving quality including quality standards, controls and governances, processes and measures and build these into the project plan. Execute on quality components through duration of the project. Correct and/or escalate non-compliance to quality components timeously.
Project Expense & Benefits Management- Undertake sound cost and benefits management and controls of the different projects through.
Risk, Opportunity & Issue Management- Undertake ongoing identification, assessment and monitoring of all project risks/opportunities/issues to determine their relevance and impact on the project.
Stakeholder Engagement- Based on the overall stakeholder management plan, effectively interact with key stakeholders to ensure they are committed to project outcomes, facilitate required decision making and are kept abreast of project progress.
Procurement & contract management- Based on the project plan, identify and spec which components need to be procured externally.
Team effectiveness- Build and manage an effective project team in terms of; positive team culture, dynamics and values, identify systemic issues/conflicts that may be hindering the effectiveness of the team and institute corrective actions, resource allocation, skills identification and development.
